Troubleshooting

This topic will cover reported bugs, patches and work-arounds. As the v2.0 release rolls out, our engineers will make continue to make additions to this resource, helping to share the valuable feedback we receive from our growing user community.

VB ELF 2.1                               Known Issues

1) In this release, the elements to display in the tree display (hierarchy) can be chosen only once for a given Worksheet. (We're investigating the bug that prevents the tree control from being cleared and re-used.) So if you first display a tree showing the employees with their hiredates, say, but then want to display the employees along with the sum of their sales, you must re-ask the question to close and reopen the Worksheet. We hope to have this fixed in a later release.

2) Oracle pivot tables do not display a Totals column, regardless of whether "without column totals" is included in the query. To reproduce this problem, ask a crosstab question, such as "Crosstab the quantities showing the employee across and product name down."

3) Hierarchical "Next Anniversary" and "Last Anniversary" options are not supported for Oracle databases. In other words, you cannot generate a tree view of an organization, displaying the most recent/next occurring anniversary of anyone's hire date or birthday along each path of the hierarchy (as you can for Jet or SQL Server data sources). Well, heck -- Oracle's native HIERARCHY keyword won't even let you show totals, averages, mins and maxes across a hierarchy (and you CAN get that from VB ELF 2.0) -- so no complaining!
