Buttons (Custom Analysis window)There are seven buttons on the Custom Analysis window. The two buttons at top, Select All / Select None, are used to set or clear all checkboxes in the list of datasets available for use in the interface. This is handy, along with the "Show selected only" checkbox, for controlling the list so that you can locate given tables quickly. You may need to scroll up and down this list in order to find one to right-click, for setting the visibility of its individual fields to the interface under construction. The Accept button causes the interface generator to begin work, using the selections currently in effect. If the user has changed any of the default selections (for instance, which tables or fields to include), these changes will be applied to the View under construction. They won't be stored for future use, however, unless the Save button is clicked prior to the Accept button.
The Save button allows you to make a record of the current choices used in the design of the View. Each option which
can be selected from the Custom Analysis window (or the Field Selection window, triggered by right-clicking a table from the
Custom Analysis window) can be saved with this one-click method. The saved configuration becomes the new default -- that is,
it becomes the set of choices used the next time an Express analysis is performed, and it becomes the "start position" of
all controls the next time another custom analysis is performed.
The Defaults button undoes the effects of the Save button. It restores the configuration to the state it would be in prior to any manual reconfiguration/save process. Note that this does not allow you to backtrack through earlier configurations. You can save only one configuration at a time, and it is removed completely when the Defaults button is clicked. The Help button takes you to the Help topic for the Custom Analysis form. The Cancel button interrupts the process of building a View.
